My Barn Build

This is my last miniature build. This one is for my youngest Great Nephew. I fell in love with this big Barn. In the new world of Farming those Big Red Barns are hard to find anymore. I bought the last one Hobby Lobby had. It was a fun build. So it did have the same thin wood shingles on it. I used the same color of Gray dyed on them. Of course the first thing you need to do is get the parts list and measure the Barn parts and mark each part so you can organize your parts as needed. That is a must. And the shingles were the same as the dollhouses. So I also the Gray dye to color them. Painting the white trim was also tricky.

Barn Build

The Inside Of The Barn Finished

This is the back side of the barn finished. Everything is all hand made with the left over material. This was the easiest kit to build compared to the dollhouses. The dollhouses was all about detail where the Barn was well it is what it is. There is no electric ran in this because of having to lean inside to place the things you want to put into it. So this was a pretty simple build. When it came to finishing the inside I left it all the natural wood because most barns or not painted on the inside.

The Finished Outside

Finished Barn Build

The double doors and the track was really hard to work with. You could not paint the top and bottom of the doors because it would keep the doors from moving. You could not paint the inside of the track either because it would keep the doors from sliding. Painting the roof trim was very time consuming but it really brought out the color of the shingles.

The side windows also worked the same way as the sliding doors on the front of the Barn. No paint on the inside of the tracks and on the top and bottom of the doors. So when I installed the window frames the instructions only showed the outside of the windows framed in. I really like the windows trimmed out that way. They look finished. I found some baled up hay and bags of wheat and barley to put in the loft. But I really found a metal wind mill that looks as he would say it looks just like Pop’s wind mill he has by the pond.

Something To Make Memories

This is the last of the Dollhouse and Miniatures Build. All four kids will have something to keep through life to pass down to there kids. So I have told each of them to play all they want with there buildings because there is not a piece that can’t be fixed with glue or liquid nails. Thanks so much for taking your time to look.
