My Miniature Builds

For my oldest Great Nephew I built him a Miniature Vintage Gas Station. You know the ones with the side sliding garage door and the steel lamps hanging over every door. His favorite color is red. I found a bright red paint at our local Lowes store and painted the outside red with blue and gray stripes down the sides of the building. That would be around the 1950’s. This is my all around favorite Miniature build.

The Inside Of The Miniatures Gas Station

Miniatures

I made several pieces in the build. I built the ladder and the pallets on the second floor. The shingles were really thin and I used a gray dye to give them there color. The trash can and all the other pieces you see came from a website called miniatures.com. The cool looking pick-up in the back ground is a Matchbox Truck. This truck is a 1957 Chevrolet from the Models of Yesteryear collection. I really like these trucks because they look just like the real deal. If you checked out my other page called Models you will see I really do like the 50’s pickup trucks. So this build also has electric ran into it.

Running The Electric In A Miniature

This is what it looks like running the flat tape in a miniature build. It really is a tape of two rolls of copper flat tape. The different directions is joined together with a very small Brass nail. First you must make sure you join the blue on blue and the pink on pink. So you place the brass nail on the tip of the blue handle tool. The bottom of this holds the nail in place and the top of it presses on top of the nail and helps pushes the nail into the tape. But remember Blue run on Blue and Pink run on Pink. There is also a tool to use to check each run after you join them together. First you plug in your outlet to the building and the other end in the wall socket. This tool has two prongs on it. Secondly push each prong on the Blue and Pink stripe. The top will light up if everything is correct.

This is a view from the side of the Garage with the lights on. I like this picture because of the trunk. You can see the two vintage Coca-Cola vending machines in the back of the truck. This next picture will be the front of the Gas Station with the lights on.

Finishing This Miniture

The vending machine is a Christmas decoration. The case of Coke bottles is from another piece and last, I made the benches. The last two pictures is some of the furniture I made.

The extra pieces and the clock and dart board on the wall came from a website that I buy all the cute stuff. So if you ever want to build some thing like this go to www.miniature.com.

There is a lot of information on that site.
